As a helping professional, taking care of yourself is essential for your own well-being, for those you support, and for showing up as your authentic self wherever you live, work, pray, and play. This session deepens your understanding of trauma’s impact across the lifespan through PACEs (Positive and Adverse Childhood Experiences) Science, a research-based, science-backed framework. You’ll explore why early childhood development and healthy relationships matter for building resilience, and leave with practical ways to apply these concepts in your day-to-day work, community, and home.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand trauma across the lifespan through PACEs Science and the lifelong importance of early development and healthy relationships for mental and physical health.

  2. Use shared, inclusive language that recognizes personal, systemic, and environmental factors in trauma.

  3. Apply trauma-informed concepts in your workplace and community, building resilience by creating safety and acknowledging lived experience.

  4. Practice self-care, self-compassion, and reflective practices to reduce compassion fatigue and strengthen your ability to support others.

Audience

Folx from cross-sectors in a socio-ecological model and across the lifespan.
